How does bonus wagering work?
A wagering requirement tells you how much of a defined amount must be staked before bonus-related funds or winnings can be withdrawn under the offer terms.
What do x20, x30 and x40 mean?
A x30 requirement means the amount defined by the terms must be wagered 30 times. If it applies only to a €100 bonus, the wagering total is €3,000. With the same €100 bonus, x20 means €2,000 and x40 means €4,000.
Bonus only
€100 bonus × 30
= €3,000
The amount to wager if the term applies only to the bonus received.
Deposit + bonus
(€100 + €100) × 30
= €6,000
The amount to wager if the term applies to the combined deposit and bonus.
The same multiplier can therefore mean a different wagering total. Always check which amount the offer uses as its calculation base.
Wagering examples based on bonus funds
The table assumes that the wagering requirement applies only to bonus funds. An offer can use a different calculation base in its own terms.
| Bonus | Wagering | Amount to wager |
|---|---|---|
| €100 | x20 | €2,000 |
| €100 | x30 | €3,000 |
| €100 | x40 | €4,000 |
Game contribution
A 100% contribution means €1 staked contributes €1 towards wagering. At 50%, €2 staked contributes €1; at 20%, €5 contributes €1; and at 0%, a game does not contribute at all.
Terms can also exclude particular games. Check the eligible-game list and contribution rates before using the bonus.
Maximum bet, time limit and withdrawals
An offer can set a maximum permitted bet and a deadline for completing wagering. A bet above the limit or an expired bonus can affect withdrawal eligibility for bonus-related funds.
Withdrawing before wagering is complete can void the bonus. What happens to the deposit or winnings depends on the individual casino terms.
Non-sticky and standard bonuses
Non-sticky describes a bonus structure, not the absence of wagering. In a cash-first model, cash may be used before bonus funds, while the bonus portion can still have its own wagering requirement.

Common mistakes to avoid
- • Do not assume wagering is always calculated from the bonus alone.
- • Do not look only at the bonus percentage; check game contribution and the deadline too.
- • Do not confuse a non-sticky structure with no wagering.
- • Do not overlook a maximum bet or withdrawal condition.
Frequently asked questions about bonus wagering
Does x30 always mean the same amount to wager?
No. The key question is whether x30 applies only to bonus funds or to both the deposit and bonus.
Do all games contribute to wagering equally?
Not necessarily. Terms can give games different contribution rates or exclude some games altogether.
What if I withdraw before wagering is complete?
The offer can end or the related funds and winnings can change according to its terms. Always check the specific promotion.
